Rich legacy in metaphysics, mathematics, alchemy, religion, technology, esoterica, and occult. To Bergier, "The Point Beyond Infinity, a transfinite point from which the whole universe becomes perceptible." To Talbot, "Instantaneous knowledge, like the ALEF, a point in space and time that contains all other points in space and time, a moment that contains all other moments. 7/4/2009 - HATRED, RACISM, AND THE DEATH OF MICHAEL JACKSON
First and foremost, Goodbye to Michael Jackson. We've come a long way with him, almost all of the half century he lived. And whether you liked him or not, even whether you liked his music or not, with all his ups and downs and controversies, the talk of pedophilia, the questions about paternity, and all the years of hurtful jokes about his color and his many lunacies and proclivities, he was, nevertheless, undeniably iconic and legendary. Complete Notice

7/3/2009 - 2012, THE NEXT ICE AGE?
Despite the complete lack of scientific concurrence, Congress has actually passed legislation based upon an unsubstantiated belief in Global Warming, when some of the most lucid and respected thinkers have confirmed, instead, that we are entering or are already in an Ice Age. Complete Notice

6/8/2009 - WHERE'S JOHNNY?
The television networks have never been known for their artistic decisions. Nor have any of their business decisions ever been praiseworthy by those who concern themselves with their artisitic ones. NBC, though, has made two recent business decisions that have indeed been deserving of praise, further interest, and perhaps even acknowledgement in some future city college business class. ESCAPING THE MATRIX
The defining dramatic moment in the film The Matrix occurs just after Morpheus invites Neo to choose between a red pill and a blue pill. The red pill promises "the truth, nothing more." Neo takes the red pill and awakes to reality - something utterly different from anything Neo, or the audience, could have expected. What Neo had assumed to be reality turned out to be only a collective illusion, fabricated by the Matrix and fed to a population that is asleep, cocooned in grotesque embryonic pods. In Plato's famous parable about the shadows on the walls of the cave, true reality is at least reflected in perceived reality. In the Matrix world, true reality and perceived reality exist on entirely different planes. Complete Feature

WHAT WAS THE SPHINX?
There has never been a satisfactory answer to what the Sphinx actually is or was. Anyone who goes to Giza can see for himself or herself that there is something `wrong' with the Sphinx. It only takes an instant. The body is gigantic and the head is just a pimple. The Egyptians never did anything like that, they were always meticulous about proportions in their art. So how is it that we have this monster with a tiny head sitting there in the sand, then? Complete Feature

BRAIN ZAPPING - PART 1
Tense nervous headache? Always run down and irritable? Not feeling yourself? Well maybe that's because you're not yourself, rather, you are being controlled from somewhere else by someone or something else. Complete Feature

BRAIN ZAPPING - PART 2
But mind control operations may go much further than the use of advanced psycho-technologies. Over recent decades thousands of people have reported being abducted by `aliens'. These countless stories cannot simply be dismissed as the result of `psychiatric disorder' as the vast majority of the individuals do not have a background of mental illness. However, they all share in common the experience of being subject to the UFO/alien phenomenon on TV, at the movies, or in books. We will return to this point later. Complete Feature

THE NEW AGE CULTURE SHIFT
These are among the multitudes of concepts that are important in the development of a New Age culture shift. Here is an explanation (or an excuse for such) of some of the post-modernist spin-offs of New Age philosophy. First understand that New Age is far too extensive in a comprehensive undertaking to do it justice in under a few thousand pages. So we are left with crass generalizations. Hopefully we do it adequately so as not to incorrectly characterize any particular facets of the movement. If you are already familiar with the terms, you can save time by glossing over the definitions. Complete Feature

CANCER IS NOT A DISEASE
What you are about to read may rock or even dismantle the very foundation of your beliefs about your body, health and healing. The title, Cancer Is Not a Disease may be unsettling for many, provocative to some, but encouraging for all. This book will serve as a revelation for those who are sufficiently open-minded to consider the possibility that cancer and other debilitating illnesses are not actual diseases, but desperate and final attempts by the body to stay alive for as long as circumstances permit. Of Mere Being

The palm at the end of the mind,
Beyond the last thought, rises
In the bronze decor,

A gold-feathered bird
Sings in the palm, without human meaning,
Without human feeling, a foreign song.

You know then that it is not the reason
That makes us happy or unhappy.
The bird sings. Its feathers shine.

The palm stands on the edge of space.
The wind moves slowly in the branches.
The bird's fire-fangled feathers dangle down.

Wallace Stevens

No More

Oh sad No More! Oh sweet No More!
Oh strange No More!
By a mossed brookbank on a stone
I smelt a wildweed-flower alone;
There was a ringing in my ears,
And both my eyes gushed out with tears.
Surely all pleasant things had gone before,
Lowburied fathomdeep beneath with thee, No More.

Lord Alfred Tennyson

The Most of It

He thought he kept the universe alone;
For all the voice in answer he could wake
Was but the mocking echo of his own
From some tree-hidden cliff across the lake.
Some morning from the boulder-broken beach
He would cry out on life, that what it wants
Is not its own love back in copy speech,
But counter-love, original response.
And nothing ever came of what he cried
Unless it was the embodiment that crashed
In the cliff's talus on the other side,
And then in the far-distant water splashed,
But after a time allowed for it to swim,
Instead of proving human when it neared
And someone else additional to him,
As a great buck it powerfully appeared,
Pushing the crumpled water up ahead,
And landed pouring like a waterfall,
And stumbled through the rocks with horny tread,
And forced the underbrush - and that was all.

Robert Frost

No Second Troy

Why should I blame her that she filled my days
With misery, or that she would of late
Have taught to ignorant men most violent ways,
Or hurled the little streets upon the great,
Had they but courage equal to desire?
What could have made her peaceful with a mind
That nobleness made simple as a fire,
With beauty like a tightened bow, a kind
That is not natural in an age like this,
Being high and solitary and most stern?
Why, what could she have done, being what she is?
Was there another Troy for her to burn?

William Butler Yeats

Negro Speaks of Rivers

I've known rivers:
I've known rivers ancient as the world and older than the
flow of human blood in human veins.
My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

I bathed in the Euphrates when dawns were young.
I built my hut near the Congo and it lulled me to sleep.
I looked upon the Nile and raised the pyramids above it.
I heard the singing of the Mississippi when Abe Lincoln
went down to New Orleans, and I've seen its muddy
bosom turn all golden in the sunset.

I've known rivers:
Ancient, dusky rivers.

My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

Langston Hughes

94th Sonnet

They that have pow'r to hurt and will do none,
That do not do the thing they most do show,
Who, moving others, are themselves as stone,
Unmoved, cold, and to temptation slow;
They rightly do inherit heaven's graces
And husband nature's riches from expense;
They are the lords and owners of their faces,
Others but stewards of their excellence.
The summer's flow'r is to the summer sweet,
Though to itself it only live and die;
But if that flow'r with base infection meet,
The basest weed outbraves his dignity:
For sweetest things turn sourest by their deeds;
Lilies that fester smell far worse than weeds.

William Shakespeare

Musee de Beaux Arts

About suffering they were never wrong,
The Old Masters; how well, they understood
Its human position; how it takes place
While someone else is eating or opening a window or just walking dully along;
How, when the aged are reverently, passionately waiting
For the miraculous birth, there always must be
Children who did not specially want it to happen, skating
On a pond at the edge of the wood:
They never forgot
That even the dreadful martyrdom must run its course
Anyhow in a corner, some untidy spot
Where the dogs go on with their doggy life and the torturer's horse
Scratches its innocent behind on a tree.

In Breughel's Icarus, for instance: how everything turns away
Quite leisurely from the disaster; the ploughman may
Have heard the splash, the forsaken cry,
But for him it was not an important failure; the sun shone
As it had to on the white legs disappearing into the green
Water; and the expensive delicate ship that must have seen
Something amazing, a boy falling out of the sky,
had somewhere to get to and sailed calmly on.

W H Auden

Awakening from Dream of Butterfly

Was I a man who dreamed he was a butterfly
or am I a butterfly who dreams he is a man?

Chuang Tzu

Animals

I think I could turn and live with animals, they are
so placid and self-contained,
I stand and look at them long and long.
They do not sweat and whine about their condition,
They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins,
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,
Not one is dissatisfied,
not one is demented with the mania of owning things,
Not one kneels to another,
nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago,
Not one is respectable or unhappy over the whole earth.

Walt Whitman

Metamorphose. An object is cut off from its name

Metamorphose. An object is cut off from its name,
habits, associations. Detached, it becomes only
the thing, in and of itself. When this disintegration
into pure existence is at last achieved, the object
is free to become endlessly anything.

Jim Morrison

The Pumpkin Tide

I saw thousands of pumpkins last night
come floating in on the tide,
bumping up against the rocks and
rolling up on the beaches;
it must be Halloween in the sea.

From An Essay on Man

Cease, then, nor Order imperfection name;
Our proper bliss depends on what we blame.
Know thy own point: this kind, this due degree
Of blindness, weakness, Heaven bestows on thee.
Submit: in this or any other sphere,
Secure to be as blessed as thou canst bear;
Safe in the hand of one disposing Power,
Or in the natal or the mortal hour.
All Nature is but Art unknown to thee;
All chance direction, which thou canst not see;
All discord, harmony not understood;
All partial evil, universal good:
And spite of Pride, in erring Reason's spite,
One truth is clear, Whatever is, is right.

Alexander Pope

ALEF Works

eAlexandria

1

It started in Sumer and Egypt we're told,
Crushed cylinders and burned-up scrolls,
Who revered their own ancients and kings
With careful lists we call their myths,
Histories and memories we dismiss,
Ourselves deprived of many things:
Of music, mystery, and ancient dance,
Inward knowledge, and outward trance.

Now, millenia of summers passed;
Across the swirl of time is cast
Knowledge pours quickly through helpless hands,
Though scattered fragments of truth remain:
Seals and tablets, shattered shards and grains.
Holiest of holies, how, amid the sands,
Can it survive without stone paw or megalith?:
Makes Alexandria seem like a myth.

2

Who need know more than they need to know?
But sacrifice and toil as the crops grow.
Why teach the farmer masonry?
Who'd raise the Lighthouse, the Towers of Babylon?
Who'd cast the beams from the Cedars of Lebanon?
Why dare show slaves astronomy
Amid the desert Winter's drying sands
Lest they put forth their many hands?

Sow fields of famine, reap ruin of reason,
And raze the truth by seed and season.
That he was there that day, he didn't deny.
But of the library horror and shame,
No one dared mention and he took no blame,
Despite what fires he'd set nearby.
Disaster, catastrophe, ancient crime:
Made Alexandria look like the end time.

3

But soon this Web will centralize
All trade and spice, expose all lies,
Gather multi-colored schools of thought
Like fish ensnared in a dazzling net.
And over the bowl their spider is set;
And through the panes their prey is caught.
Paperless pages, leaves of Autumns past;
While the deserts return to forest at last.

And stand where the Nile spreads out to the sea
Like a web and by then as gods shall be.
Expanses of data for the master and sage,
Beyond the secrets of the pyramid,
Total knowledge through their power grid,
All at our fingers without turning a page,
Merging information with the self!:
Make Alexandria seem like a bookshelf.

4

The spider springs on silent cable:
Bug in the system, a power of Babel?
Myths of their science, spin of electrons,
A flash, then a Dark New Age of pyre,
A purging by electric fire;
And all the sacred knowledge gone:
Nothing. None left. And then no one remember:
Will make Alexandria look like an ember.
