(Edited and formatted by George ALEFantes)
The Russian Federal Freeway spans the landscape from Yakutsk, Siberia to Moscow. Even the most vital stretches are unpaved and become severely compromised by the rains. Construction and rescue teams are often beaten by stranded motorists. This particular incident involved over 600 vehicles.
From the guy who sang "Year of the Cat:"
Word from the front never came.
Winter brought with her the rains,
Oceans of mud filled the roads.
And I wonder when I'll be home again;
And the morning answers "Never."
