ALEF ADMINISTRATION - ABOUT

ALEF

ALEF, Arts Letters Esoterica Faiths. The first letter in a myriad of languages from Proto-Canaanite, Phoenician, Aramaic, Hebrew, Syriac, Arabic, and Persian to Greek Alpha and Mayan Ahan. A rich legacy in metaphysics, mathematics, alchemy, religion, technology, esoterica, and occult. To Bergier, "The Point Beyond Infinity, a transfinite point from which the whole universe becomes perceptible." To Talbot, "Instantaneous knowledge, like the ALEF, a point in space and time that contains all other points in space and time, a moment that contains all other moments. The ability to simultaneously comprehend the whole and every part. Direct access to all knowledge."

ALEF ALEF Gallery
ALEF ALEF Gallery

The ALEF Gallery scratches the surface of an unending body of references to the ALEF throughout history, religion, physics, technology, esoterica, language, the occult, the Web, around town, and in a number of other human disciplines. From the first incarnation of the Proto-Canaanite, Phoenician alphabet through the ALEF Programming Language and the ALEF Robot, ALEF has been associated with spirituality, consciousness, and lifestyle; has made possible knowledge, wisdom, data, information, and content; and has been rooted in understanding and truth (if only by virtue of the process of "ruling out untruths:" Enlightenment by Elimination - literally). It is Direct Access to all Knowledge. The ALEF: All space in a single point, all time in a single moment, all knowledge in a single place and instance, superimposed overlay over layer like a hologram.

In all of these lights and traditions, we present ALEF.Net.

ALEF.NET

ALEF.Net means Direct Access to All Knowledge from a single, centralized point.

Though ALEF.Net, The ALEF Network, and George ALEFantes all provide specimens to the various Galleries, we mostly celebrate traditional and new Internet art forms created by others in Arts, Letters, Esoterica, and Faiths: So much cool and valuable stuff from the Fragments of Heraclitus and the remaining works of Sophocles to Chaucer, Shakespeare, Milton, and the Bible; from Ambigrams and Animated Gifs to Illusions, Pinacograms, Stereograms, Fonts, Images, Morphings, and more.

ALEF.Net is among other things, a museum, a showcase Site, a compendium of galleries, collections, and exhibitions, a springboard, a launching point, a landing zone, a matrix, an exchange, a portal, and a directory Site; concerned with knowledge, data, and information, and comprised of traditional and cutting-edge Internet art forms, displaying what is great and creative of the works of others on the Net, around the world, and through history: Like the ALEF, a single point from which all is accessible.

While we at ALEF.Net are, on the other hand, like Clerks of the Web, Heralds and Town Criers of the Sites of others, Digital Scribes of the Net, mere Curators and Clerics of the Great Works and Deeds of others before us, among us, and to come. In fact we work and take our own pride in a different set of arts - the very arts of gathering, filtering, editing, organizing, and showcasing themselves: The Information Arts.

ALEF.Net exists, among other reasons, for the myriad purposes of advancing, facilitating, encouraging, and enabling Reading, Reference, Research, Study, Exposure, Education, Enrichment, and Enlightenment by providing cool and alternative, useful, fun, and fascinating Links and content.

Please move about the Galleries, explore and enjoy, appreciate and admire, celebrate and praise. We hope our Visitors are moved, changed, uplifted, entralled, and entertained; that ALEF.Net can contribute to some phase or process of their Enlightenment; that they can relax and enjoy, read classics and great works, play ALEF Chess, view stunning galleries of Internet and traditional art: Even while their friends are having fun at YouTube and My Space - Like in College, busy studying late in the library, while the same friends were partying at the clubs.

Your comments and contributions are always welcome.

ALEF.NET AUDIENCE

We have endeavored to make ALEF.Net enjoyable and useful for students, educators, scholars, seekers, enthusiasts, and open-minded and alternative thinkers of all ages, genders, disciplines, and faiths. So there are some categories, sections, and areas geared specifically for kids. To that end, despite our effort and goal of covering and providing access to a myriad of information and a wide spectrum of disciplines from a central point, we have specifically excluded certain content that is better accessed elsewhere and by other means or would only serve to disrupt the experience here: Specifically adult, pornographic, gambling, pharmaeuceutical, and other Sites, works, or imagery as described in the ALEF Standards Page. Otherwise, the site is very adult in its themes, concerns, efforts, and presentations.

ALEF.NET SITE ORGANIZATION

The ALEF.Net Website is broken-down into the following main areas:

ALEF Home Page
Gallery Pages
Administration Pages

The ALEF HOME PAGE, along with Logos, Titles, Slogans, Blurbs, and Web and Email Addresses, displays three columns, with the much wider center column able to adjust to the size of the Visitor's browser resolution or window size. At the top is an animated gif of Tiahuanaco's ancient Gateway of the Sun, surrounded by a complete Menu of Links to every Gallery, Administration Page, and resource on the Site.

Following is a variable-length section titled "NEW" which previews and links to newly-added content from any of the Site's various Galleries, Sub-galleries, or Pages in reverse-chronological order, and also includes current Notifications from the Administration Menu's Notifications Page as well as content referenced on the Administration Menu's Notable Page that transcends the timeliness of the news.

In the narrower left and right columns are a myriad of explicit links to other common and useful Websites, mirrored features and articles, and Galleries and Pages throughout ALEF.Net. On the left, and also available through the Links Gallery, is an extensive system consisting of thousands of additional cool and "missing" Links categorized by their Meta Link subjects and presented in an Explorer-like interface with multiple levels of sub-categories and with all output displayed in the center column beneath a relevant animated gif and a set of "breadcrumb" links to take you back to any level of your path. There are functions to submit Link Recommendations, to request the Bibly By Fax, and to determine your IP Address. There are also dialog boxes for direct search access to Wikipedia, YouTube, Amazon, Google, Google Advanced, Yahoo, Bing, Hakia, All the Web, and Cuil, as well as a smattering of other assorted Text and Graphic content.

The GALLERY PAGES showcase a range of both traditional and cutting-edge Internet art forms in a growing number of organized Galleries and collections and in existing galleries that continue to grow. The ALEF Texts Galleries include the Aeschylus, Aristophanes, Aristotle, Bibles, Chaucer, Euripides, Homer, Jokes, Josephus, Lyrics, Milton, Nietzsche, Plato, Poets, Quotes, Recipes, Shakespeare, Sophocles, Speeches, and Texts Galleries; the ALEF Media Galleries include the Ambigrams, Animated Gifs, ASCII Art, Audio, Backgrounds, Body Art, Cartoons, Clip Art, Emoticons, Fonts, Gigapans, Graffiti, Illusions, Images, Morphings, Panoramas, Photo Mosaics, Photo Superpositioning, Photomicrography, Pinacograms, Satellite Imagery, Smileys, Software, Stereograms, Video, and Wallpapers Galleries; and the ALEF Other Galleries include the ALEF Gallery of widespread references to the ALEF name and image, the Animals, Ancient Events, Ancient Ideas, Ancient People, Ancient Places, and Ancient Things Galleries, the Artists, Events, Features, Games, Ideas, Health, and Links Galleries, as well as the Maps, Miscellaneous, People, Places, Things, and Works Galleries. Some are complete, some are in progress, and some have hardly even been begun. They are all accessible from the Menu in the center column of the ALEF Home Page as well as from their own dedicated Galleries Menu accessible from the top of the Home Page Menu.

The following acknowledgements are proudly provided for any specimen in any Gallery:

Submitted by Submitter Name/Alias (for those who submit the artwork for our evaluation and posting),
Suggested by Suggestor Name/Alias (for those who suggest a Meta Link, an entry in a Gallery, or an entire Gallery),
Created by Artist Name/Alias (for the creator of the work),
and From WebsiteName.Com (for the originating Website).

Furthermore, Links to Websites for any of the above are also graciously provided upon request.

The Games Gallery provides simple, traditional, so-called pen-and-paper type games only; designed by The ALEF Network to mimic the unrestricted freedom of the actual games and to work with strict Server-side programming, like the entire Site. ALEF Backgammon, ALEF Battleship, ALEF Checkers, and ALEF Hangman are envisioned as time permits. Only the Chess and Tic Tac Toe games are complete. We otherwise make no claims whatsoever of being any kind of game Site or game developers. They are rather intended to serve as chess boards in bookstore coffee shops. The Games Gallery Menu is available from the Menu in the center column of the ALEF Home Page.

The Features Gallery treats subject matter that is current and relevant and is either not included in or represented by any existing Gallery or else is comprised of a series of related Galleries. The Hatred and Disgrace Feature Page, for example, while adding its own content, combines the Disgraced People Page of the People Gallery with the Disgraced Things Page, the Swastikas, 666, and Satanic Symbols Pages of the Things Gallery, and with various Lists from the Works Gallery. Additionally, the Features Gallery contains whatever articles and other works are Mirrored from originating Websites. A link to the features Gallery can be found in the Menu in the center column of the ALEF Home Page and the most recent Features appear in the Features section also found in the center column of the ALEF Home Page.

The Works Gallery presents the partially-rendered and partially-posted works of George ALEFantes, creator of the Site and founder and proprietor of The ALEF Network. It serves as the signature for the ALEF.Net Website. It includes, in various stages of completion: Ambigrams, Animated Gifs, Annotations, Articles, Business Artwork, Cat Tales, Checklists, Dates, Dictionary, Encyclopedia, Graffiti Newsletter, Grave Art, Hyper Media, Images, Knowledge Base, Line Art, Lists, Modest Proposals, Morphings, Non Genre, Notes, Notices, One Page Books, Oracle, Photographs, Pinacograms, Premature Obituaries, Profiles In a Hurry, Prose, Public Domain, Public Works, Split Faces, Technical Reference, Timelines, Treatises, Twitter, Verse, Warpings, and Web Reviews. The Works Menu can be found under Other Galleries in the ALEF Home Page Menu in the center column.

The ADMINISTRATION PAGES facilitate the proper use and delivery of the Website: They include the About, About Texts, Contact, Dedication, Feedback, Forums, In Progress, In the Future, Link to ALEF.Net, Legal, Mascots, New, Notable, Notifications, SAQs, Search, and Standards Pages. They also include About pages describing the Link Recommendation, the notorious Bible by Fax, and the IP Address features in the left column of the ALEF Home Page. The ALEF.Net Maintenance, Error, and Blank Pages are also available for no particular reasons other than thoroughness and, perhaps, absurdity. The Control Pages allow for upload and download of Website files and content, overseeing of Website activity, monitoring, updating, and processing of questions, comments, recommendations, submissions, and other forms of contact, and direct interaction with individual Visitors, and are not intended for general consumption or access. A place in the Administration Menu, nevertheless, has been designated for future password-protected functionality. Finally, a link to the complete Menu and a link to the ALEF Home Page are also included.

The Administration Menu and all of its pages and functions are available in the Menu in the center column of the ALEF Home Page as well as in their own Administration Menu.

ALEF.NET HISTORY

The ALEF.Net domain name was acquired from Verisign/Network Solutions by George ALEFantes in 1995. He is the first and only entity to own the domain name. Originally serving as a simple brochure Website for his computer programming and support company, The ALEF Network, it began an evolution to its current state in 2001 while The ALEF Network acquired ALEFNetwork.Com for its own purposes.

It was originally a collection of cool and alternative Links for the use of a small group allowing convenient, all-in-one-place access to a series of useful Links and search engines.

And though the Site has since expanded into valid and diverse new directions, we continue to take them most seriously.

Shortly thereafter, we began the expansion to all Arts, Letters, Esoterica, and Faiths.

2007 was spent undertaking a massive redesign and content offering including the ongoing editing of numerous Ancient and Classic Texts; singificant increases in the number of Links, Animated Gifs, and specimens in other Galleries; and the addition of a large number of other Galleries.

That revision was posted and was ready for consumption on 1/1/2008 and, except for regular additions and changes, remains the current incarnation of ALEF.Net.

ALEF.NET CONTENT

ALEF.Net provides content of Arts, Letters, Esoterica, and Faiths in both traditional and new Internet art forms. It covers Subjects of Interest to us all from birth to death and everything before, after, and between.

Our foremost mandate is Quality over Quantity. We do not strive to be all-encompassing, extensive, or cluttered, but rather to gather and provide highly-selective samples, examples, and specimens: The best not the most. Other Sites may have more but we have better. Nor are we in competition with any of them; we are in competition with no one; there is no competition. In fact, we link to those Sites as well for the convenience and empowerment of our Visitors.

But, even despite this mandate, some of our Galleries contain specimens in the thousands. As of January, 2008, we had more than 2,250 Animated Gifs on display and provided approximately 3,000 Links in the Links Gallery. On the other hand, the paucity of entries in the Pinacograms Gallery, for instance, could actually be held in the other hand. Nevertheless, all content, whether text or image, is edited, revised, and improved by ALEF.Net: Images are cropped, resized, touched-up, and restored when necessary. Texts are extensively proofread, formatted, and edited, especially archaic, British, and Latin punctuation, word forms, and spellings. Specifics can be found at ALEF About Texts and in each Gallery's About section.

Our Links represent our original, and remain our central, focus. Standing squarely in that digital river that is the Net, they employ the essential Hyperlinking technology of the Internet.

We gather, filter, and provide cool, alternative, esoteric, useful, interesting, provocative, fascinating, awesome, and missing Links and URLs. You'll also find many of the regular, mainstream Links with which you are already familiar.

All Links are arranged under cool, flexible Subjects or categories called "Meta Links" and employ a proprietary technology allowing a single Link, entered only once, to appear under as many categories as necessary, and the entire system to render automatically in real-time.

We critique those sites that fail our tests and standards: Those that are dishonest and nefarious or are happy to exclude huge percentages of Visitors who are not willing to enable settings that render their computers like a house with its doors unlocked and left wide open. Perhaps banks, credit card companies, and online vendors can justify the added stealth and security, but what excuse do all of the other Websites have?

Our Links can be accessed
1) By clicking Links in the Menu found in the center of the Main Page
2) By clicking GALLERIES in the Menu in the center of the Main Page and then clicking Links on the Galleries Menu
3) By clicking any of the top-level Meta Link categories displayed in the left column of the Main Page

In all cases, the detail is displayed in the wide Center column.

In addition to the Name and URL of the Link, when time permits, we provide additional information for each link as well, including a Description, an Analysis, the name or alias of the Submitter, an "A" through "F" Rating of its content, security, and design, and a series of relevant Meta Links, or categories, under which the Link will be found.

Though a number of Search Engines are directly accessible from the ALEF.Net Main Page and extensive lists of Search Engine Links are also included in our Links section, the ALEF.Net Links Gallery is not itself a search engine, but rather, among other things, more appropriately a Listing, Portal, or Directory system. The searching, filtering, and presentation have already been done.

Song Lyrics in our Lyrics Gallery, for example, are never merely copies of error-ridden samples that are found replicated across the Web, but are, rather, the best and sometimes toughest songs. Using acoustical and linguistic analysis to assist, we listen numerous times, with and without headphones, often in groups, and at a series of descending speeds combined with ascending pitches when necessary. If we cannot determine the correct lyrics, we will not include the song. While Shakespeare and other master works have been edited word by word and punctuation mark for mark.

Though rarely, we may occasionally mirror content from another Site. Whether merely to fully quote the source, because it was so interesting, well said and presented, or because it was so valuable that any possibility of its disappearance from the Web might present a serious disappointment, we will always include extensive acknowledgements, Links to the original occurence, and clear indications that the page or work is mirrored.

For a complete description of STANDARDS, including disclaimers and both excluded and non-excluded content and Links, visitor conduct, advertisers, and more, see ALEF Standards.

ALEF.NET SITE DESIGN

We have endeavored to present all content (text, graphic images, video, audio, etc) in as simple, minimalist, organized, and convenient a format as possible. We are proud of the ease and lack of intrusion we have built into the system. It was designed to be easy to use and fast to get to the content. Stunning visual Galleries, a challenging game of ALEF Chess, a number of Bibles, Homer, the Ancient Greek Tragedies and Comedies, Chaucer, Shakespeare, Milton, and many other Classic Texts are all always just a click, or two, or three away. Visitors may click Shakespeare on the Main Page and Hamlet on the Shakespeare page and be reading great Tragic Poetry in a pleasantly-presented format.

We have also endeavored to make all things the Site has to offer equally accessible. It was designed with the regular, returning visitor, not the new, first-time visitor in mind. Though many Galleries have an About Page that describes its logistics and premises, there are otherwise a minimum of ads, welcome banners, explanations, prompts, instructions, and intrusions. Returning Visitors appreciate it; new Visitors learn the simplicity quickly and soon become returning Visitors.

Throughout, the background is always black (which also happens to use the least amount of electricity and computer resources). All content is rendered in a larger 14-point Arial font, all acknowledgements in a smaller 10-point italic version, and all other Site Text is displayed in 12-point Arial, including Links which always use an ALEF Gray background (the exact middle between Black and White) and text that is either Black, Light Gray, or White depending on whether the Link has not yet been clicked, is in the process of being clicked, or has been previously clicked.

All of the ALEF Text Galleries are presented in Teal, all ALEF Media Galleries in ALEF Red, and all of the ALEF Other Galleries have their own distinguishing colors: The ALEF Gallery is Yellow, the Artists Gallery is Orange, the Maps Gallery is Blue, the Health Gallery is Rose, and the Animals Gallery is Green. The Events, Ideas, People, Places, and Things Galleries are all Mustard. While all of the Ancient Events, Ancient Ideas, Ancient People, Ancient Places, and Ancient Things Galleries are Olive. Pale Green is used for the Features Gallery, Red for the Games Gallery, Light Blue for the Links Gallery, ALEF Gray for all of the Works Galleries, and ALEF Purple for the Miscellaneous Gallery. Wherever content from the Galleries appear, their originating colors are preserved, as with their samples that fill the center column of the Home Page.

Finally, White is the default text color. It is used for all of the Administration pages, for any miscellaneous text on the Home Page that does not have a Gallery as its source, for the Galleries and Administration Menus themselves, and for the independent Menu Page, the Maintenance and Error Pages, and any other page that operates in a global capacity.

The logo employs a black background consistent with the Site and echoes a 'primitive' lascaux wall painting, cave art motif. It uses the Phoenecian script in Mustard for the text of the name, ALEF, and a stone-age, Ancient Greek font in ALEF Red for the accompanying text. It features the Website animal mascots, the Ibis and the Ox, in Teal, made by reorienting the four letters of the ALEF logo: The Ibis, of course, being the bird of Thoth and the Ox, the pictograph from which the letter ALEF was originally derived.

Thoth, the Ibis-headed god, figures prominently as a symbol for the Site and its theme. Also called Djehuty and Tehuti, it comes from the Egyptian 'dhw,' meaning Ibis ('hbj' in normal writing). When the 'ty' suffix is added, 'dhwty,' it means 'he who is like the Ibis:' The Ibis being the symbol for Scribe. His persona reappears in numerous other Ancient cultures including the Biblical Enoch and the Greek Hermes where his title of "thrice great" is translated as 'trismegistus' and eventually yields the name 'Hermes Trismegistus, a likely imaginary character, significant in the Occult, and credited with the creation of the Emerald Tablet. He is also associated with the Moon, possibly because its crescent shape resembles the Ibis beak, and with baboons, who, according to some, sing to the Moon, and to others, sing to the rising Sun. He is the "one, self-begotten, self-produced" god of Wisdom, knowledge, learning, magic, measurement, and regulation of events and of time. He was the mediating power and scribe of the gods, the master of physical and divine law, credited with the creation of the 365 day calendar and the invention of writing and alphabets. He made the calculations for the establishment of the heavens, stars, and planets, and directed the motions of the heavenly bodies. His female counterpart, Ma'at (Maat), was the force that maintained the universe.

Egypt credited him as author of all works of science, religion, philosophy, and magic. Greeks added astronomy, astrology, numerology, mathematics, geometry, land-surveying, medicine, botony, theology, governments, reading, writing, oratory, and every branch and work of human and divine knowledge.

The connection between the name Thoth and the etymologies of the words 'Truth' and 'Thought' is accepted by some but remains inconclusive to others.

The MAIN PAGE maintains a distinction from the rest of the Site, but still shares most thematic and stylistic features with most other pages that retain a general theme and consistency, deviated from only when merited by the page's purpose or content (as with the ALEF Chess Game, for example). Menus are simple, bordered tables with 1, 2, 3, or 4 columns of Links to their respective pages and content. Content pages usually sport a single simple column: Logo at the top, title bar, and immediate content. There is no clutter of ads or other distractions - just serious content. All pages are flexible and allow readjusting of their horizontal demeanor to fit the Visitor's browser resolution, to allow Visitors to resize their browsers to any window size, and even to allow most pages to render on mobile platforms.

ALEF.NET SITE TECHNICAL

The ALEF Network (www.ALEFNetwork.Com) provides all technical services.

All programming is strictly Server-side. That means that when a Visitor's browser requests a page, all processing and page preparation is done exclusively on the Web Server, then the completed page is sent to the Visitor's browser. There is absolutely no Client-side programming, the practice of first downloading small programs, or scripts, to the Visitor's computer with each page requested and then processing and running them there, instead. Though Client-side programming provides some benefits, mostly in the form of glitter and frill, the price is unacceptable: If Cookies, Scripts (including Java), and/or ActiveX Controls are disabled in the Visitor's browser, the Client-side page will often fail, usually rendering a completely blank screen with the word "Done" or "Ready" in the Status Line.

Server-side programming, on the other hand, places no reliance on the state of the Visitor's browser settings, and allows us to provide our complete experience without imposition, and ensures the greatest possible audience without excluding anyone who either doesn't know how to modify their browser settings or simply refuses to create the far greater risks associated with doing so.

Additionally, though completely possible with Server-side programming, we never open new browser windows when you click on a Link. Though the temptation is often great, and clearly will enhance the convenience of and advantage to the Visitor, we believe, due to concerns of memory usage, screen and desktop organization, and Visitor autonomy, it should be their own decision. Holding down the Shift key and clicking a Link will have the same effect. Control remains in the hands of the Visitor.

The Site is hosted on an IIS Server and is written completely in HTML, ASP, and VBScript. Much of it, including many of the Classic Texts, is database driven, and includes the use of proprietary Text Databases created and implemented by The ALEF Network, producing a myriad of custom database-generated pages. The Links Gallery features a proprietary Links, Meta Links, and Cross Links Multilevel, Multiplexing Cross-Referencing Database System; most text pages use proprietary, auto-generating menus and content systems based on directory listings and simple text files; and many graphic pages use proprietary, automated Image Processing menus and content systems, as well.

The significant amount of extra work and programming in the design and implementation of the Site yields the priceless advantage of allowing complete ease in subsequent Site maintenance. Typical maintenance, additions to and modifications of content, is as simple as adding new or changing existing text files and adding new or modifying existing database records.

All work is done using the Semware Editor, the very best Editor we have ever found for any platform: Small, fast, powerful, standalone, without installation or registry modification, comprised of just a single file, and 100% customizable. If an editor is more important than the occasional use of Notepad, there is definitely no better choice than the Semware Editor.

Finally, in keeping with our high enthusiasm about the Linux operating system, particularly the Linux Mint, PC Linux OS, and Mepis versions, and particularly in light of Microsoft's inevidable decline and demise as an honest beacon and role model for the industry and their deep betrayal with Vista (wherein the User is no longer simply served, but is instead served to the higher interests of Hollywood and Homeland Security), we are currently examining the longterm comparative advantges and considering conversion to the Open Source counterparts of Apache, PHP, and MySQL, as well.

ALEF.NET SITE SECURITY

As we proudly display on our Main Page, we use absolutely no Popups, Plug-ins, Scripts, Cookies, Java, ActiveX controls (or other Active content), Flash, Spyware, Viruses, BHOs, Web Bugs or Beacons, Root Kits, or ADSs (Alternative Data Streams). This serves to remove all risk from the experience at our Site. Though, to make the Security complete, many of these settings should still be disabled in the Visitor's browser, as well: Especially Cookies, Scripts, and ActiveX controls, all of which subject your computer to more and more risk respectively, and allow Websites to track Visitor behavior on the Net, or worse, allow them to allow others to track their behavior.

We do not engage in tracking or identifying our Visitors in any way, or following them to other sites to record their behavior for commercial or nefarious purposes. We have no interest in that aspect of our Visitors' existence and do not completely understand why so many Sites do. The unfortunate result being that so many Visitors are excluded from having a normal experience, often presented with just a blank screen.

At ALEF.Net, Visitors who are mindful of their Security can visit our Site without compromise. Made possible by our strict use of Server-side only programming, we do not rely on any particular state of your computer as is required by Client-side programming. All scripts are run from our servers. The Visitor's PC receives only pure HTML and our Site will work with PCs under the strictest form of security, allowing us to serve any Visitor using any browser. Just a pure, enriching, private, and anonymous experience: Our philosophy on the Web. Thus, in addition to 'access to all information and knowledge,' our slogan of "Direct Access to All" boasts the additional, equally-important meaning of 'Direct Access to All Visitors.'
