ALEF THINGS - RANCHETI

(Edited and formatted by George ALEFantes)

Sightings of Bigfoot have become an everyday occurrence in the secluded, desert town of Ranchita, California, Northeast of San Diego and just West of Borrego Springs, where Joe Rauh, artist, engineer, and real estate agent is busy at work designing, manufacturing, and selling "Rancheti," Ranchita Yeti, the stunning eleven-foot, 300-pound Bigfoot sculpting.

"There were giants in the earth in those days."

Many can certainly remember the giant, bearded Paul Bunyan statues that dotted the American landscape throughout the 1950s and 1960s, whose giant arms were usually constructed to hold a giant muffler, golf club, ax, hotdog, or other implement horizontally before them.

Joe Rauh has single-handedly resurrected that very American tradition but with a modern paranormal, cryptozoological twist.

Rancheti Head

Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, of course, is the mysterious primate who supposedly inhabits the forests of North America, especially in the Pacific Northwest. Its counterpart, called Yeti, or the Abominable Snowman, is said to roam the Himalayan regions of Tibet and Nepal.

Rancheti Face

Rauh studied numerous accounts and descriptions from years of documented sightings and worked with artist Mark Alfrey to create the finalized version of the statue's face, winding-up with what they refer to as “a cross between Harry and the Hendersons and the Patterson Bigfoot," the notorious ape-like image walking away into the forest from the infamous 1967 video footage.

The statues are molded from fiberglass, an art he perfected during his early days in auto racing: "It's designed to hold a simple sign in front, which is small enough to not disturb the silhouette, but large enough to be read when someone approaches within fifty feet." He sells the sculptings to business establishments across America and is even willing to generously negotiate delivery options for the difficult cargo. The hands are added afterwards according to particular requirements of each client. There are also options for glowing eyes and recorded speech.

Rancheti

All in all, the statues generate great interest and quickly become fascinating conversation pieces wherever they take root.
